Research carried out by Achor has shown that the circuit boards of computers and all electronic equipment are contaminated with a range of fungi and bacteria strongly linked to allergy and disease. Dr Eddie Weir of Achor has isolated a range of Aspergilli from circuit boards, each well known for their damaging effects in terms of allergy and respiratory illness. Carrying this work forward, we were able to isolate a number of bacteria, some pathogenic. However, we don't just leave things at the problem – Adam Elliston went on to demonstrate that they were being distributed by blasting out through the cooling fan, so he devised a simple filter to stop them and transform your machine from a serious health risk into an air cleaner – if you would like to know more about Achor's ‘Fan Guard' let us know. Eddie has continued the work, carrying out a range of surveys on the contamination of key boards and providing a survey and assessment service for companies
